JP: 初期伊万里/しょきいまり
Porcelain products made in the region of what is now Arita in the early 17th century. Most of them are blue and white painted pieces, considered to be fairly primitive in terms of skill, exhibiting a thick body, bluish glaze, or an uneven shape for example. However, we value them for their hand-made feel, particularly for their strong and free brush strokes and the soft texture of their bodies.
