JP: 波佐見焼/はさみやき

A general term for the ceramics goods which are made in the town of Hasami, in Nagasaki prefecture, which borders Saga Pefecture, where Arita is located. The raw materials and production processes are almost the same as that of Arita ware. In the Edo period (17th-19th century),  the towns of Hasami and Arita were in the same now-defunct region (Hizen), which is why the products made in this region were all called Arita/Imari ware. Nowadays, Hasami-yaki is famous as simple, well-designed, and popular tableware.
